Remo Stars skipper, Nduka Junior was excited to have scored a sublime free-kick for his team against El-Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday, a moment which he cherishes so dearly, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

“The season is gradually coming to an end and I’m not under pressure neither anyone of us,” he reveled to Sport247 in an exclusive interview.

“It’s a vital win for us and also quiet unfortunate that we played four games in the first stanza but didn’t win any, this is very bad for us as a team and also as an individual,” he admitted.

“When the free-kick was awarded, I heard the assistant coach saying from the bench that it was a goal and when I was going for the free-kick, I knew it was from a far distance and I have nothing in mind than to just go there and shoot.”

“I went there and didn’t change my mind, immediately the referee sounded the whistle, I took it before the keeper came back to position and that was how I scored.”

“For me, the goal is an immune booster for me, my first goal of the season, I scored just a free-kick last season and I haven’t scored any this season, it has given me the courage to do more and score more before the second stanza ends.”

The 2-1 away win at El-Kanemi was an important one for Daniel Ogunmodede's side who are now five points adrift Bendel Insurance who tops group A as the battle for the Super six continues.
