Gombe United ended their first half campaign of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL with a win over Plateau United on Thursday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

It took a last gasp penalty for Gombe United to win over Plateau United at the Pantami Stadium.

The Savannah Scorpions defeated the Tin Boys by three goals to two in a pulsating encounter.

Anayo Ogbonna headed home the first goal in the 12th minute from a Sodiq Shuaibu's freekick, but Albert Hilary restored parity for the Visitors six minute later.

Rahman Olanrrwaju restored the lead for the Host in the 23rd minute through a header courtesy of another Shuaibu's cross, but this time from a corner.

It was all Gombe as they created chances to increased the lead and even had a goal ruled out for offside as the first half came to an end.

At the start of the second half, Moses Adikwu headed home Itodi's long throw in from the left to level terms just two minutes to the start of the second half.

The intensity increased for Gombe who sought to get a winning goal, but had to wait till the last minute of the tie when Victor Dawa's shot spilled on Plateau United's player from inside the box and penalty was given.

Mahanadou Souley did well to score and hand Gombe United a second win of the season at their home ground.
