The Nigeria Premier Football League Youth League screening exercise will begin January 31, the league body has announced, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Besides the screening, the qualifiers in 5 zones will take place from February 1-3. Enugu will be the venue for Southeast teams, Lafia for North Central teams, Kaduna for North West/Northeast teams, Asaba for South South teams and Ekiti for Southwest teams.

As a result of the foregoing, the chairman of the league, Pastor Emeka Inyama has urged clubs to ensure proper documentation to avoid disqualification of players.

“We will be very intentional and meticulously strict in enforcing the rules to ensure that nobody who is ineligible plays in the competition because the youth teams are the future of the NPFL.

“Clubs have been communicated on the eligibility criteria, and they are expected to get every documentation ready to make the screening easy for all involved,” the founding Chairman warned.

Clubs are expected to arrive at their centres on January 30 to commence the screening.
