El Kanemi Warriors Coach, Aliyu Zubairu has stated that the match day one encounter against reigning champions, Rangers International should have been won, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Borno Army held the Flying Antelopes in a goalless draw in the first Nigeria Premier Football League game of the season at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Zubairu believes that could have been their day following quite a dominating performance from his boys on Saturday.

He said after the match that his team will continue to work on their goal-scoring abilities.

"If not ordinarily this is a match we ought to have won," Zubairu said.

"Goal scoring is like planting a seed and you continue to water it then it will grow. So we will continue to work on it until we get it right"

With the result, the northern side finally broke the jinx of nine consecutive losses against the Enugu side as they began life in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
