Rivers United are reportedly making a push to sign forward Sikiru Alimi from reigning Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

According to reports, Alimi is open to a more lucrative move away from Remo Stars, whose contract with the Sky Blue Stars is set to expire at the end of this month.

Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, is said to be a big fan of the tall striker and is keen on bringing him to the club.

Alimi's future is expected to be decided after the African Nations Championship, for which he is currently part of the Super Eagles B team in preparation for the tournament.
