Bayelsa United were the biggest winners of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League round of 12 matches as they thumped Abia Warriors in Yenagoa on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The NNL reigning champions walloped the Umuahia based side give goals to one to record the highest number goals win in the on going league at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

Bayelsa United's top goal scorer, Mizo Robert was the one who started the onslaught as early as the 6th minute of the tie.

Alex Jerry doubled the lead in the 24th minute as Alex Oyowah scored in the 36th minute to increase the lead.

Stephen Wisdom made it four two minutes before a free kick pulled one back for the visitors.

However, Alex Oyowah made sure the four-goal lead was restored to end the first half on a high for United.

It eventually ended the same way it was in the first half.

In group A, Enyimba continued their unimpressive result as they lost to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Uche Collins headed in James Ajako's cross from a corner in the 73rd minute which proved the match winner at the end of hostilities.
