The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced a new date for the rescheduled matchday 3 fixture between Enyimba and Akwa United, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The encounter, initially set for Sunday, 22 September, will now take place on Wednesday, 2 October, at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi confirmed the change in a letter to the affected clubs.

The postponement allows Enyimba to focus on their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie against Etoile Filante, scheduled for Saturday, 22 September, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Enyimba previously held Etoile Filante to a goalless draw in Mali last Friday, setting up a decisive return leg.

The revised NPFL fixture enables Enyimba to prioritize their continental commitments without compromising their domestic schedule.
