Remo Stars returned to the zenith of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League standings following their win over fellow South-west club, Shooting Stars Sports while Ikorodu City continued their fine run in the mid week matches, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Sky Blue Stars defeated 3SC 2-0 courtesy of  goals from Sikiru Alimi and Olamilekan Adedayo at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.

The visitors had been reduced to 10 men for a second bookable following a challenge by Taiye Muritala on Sikiru Alimi on 42 minutes.

Two minutes later, Sikiru Alimi scored from the spot to give Remo the lead in the derby after Franck was fouled in the box.

Olamilekan Adedayo doubled the lead on 67 minute after scoring a rebound following goalkeeper's save of Mawuena’s header.

In Lagos, Ikorodu City earned a 2-0 win over El Kanemi Warriors, continuing their fine run with 4 wins and a draw in 5 matches.

A keenly contested first half at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan saw the encounter with nothing to separate the the two sides in the first 45 minute.

However, Shola Adelani broke the ice on 62 minute to give the Oga Boys side the lead.

Ayo Cole turned goal scorer 15 minutes later after assisting Adelani's goal to make it 2-0.

In Umuahia, Abia Warriors got a win after 3 matches without a win by beating Katsina United 2-0.

Goals from Anthony Ijoma on 45+ minute and Ojonugwa Adejoh on 90 minute gave the hosts the win.

Friday Apollos scored a late at the dead of the final whistle to give Akwa United a 1-0 win over Plateau United in Uyo.

Kwara United also got a slim win over Heartland FC courtesy of Emmanuel Ogbole on 21 minute.

Promise Awosanmi scored in the 61st minute to seal a point for Sunshine Stars after Timothy Zachariah in the 3rd minute had given Rivers United the lead.
