NPFL: Rangers International pip Rivers United in rescheduled game
Rangers International of Enugu edged Rivers United to take maximum points in their Nigeria Premier Football League match day 11 rescheduled game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
A second half goal by Kazeem Ogunleye sealed the win for the Flying Antelopes over the Pride of Rivers as they move to the 8 position on the league standings.
The first 45 minutes of the encounter had ended goalless despite a dominating display by the hosts that saw them hit the woodwork once and called goalkeeper, Seidu Mutawakilu into action twice.
In the second half, Rangers made their dominance count as Ogunleye from a free-kick gave the home team the lead 6 minutes after the start of the half.
The visitors increased the intensity to get back to the game, but the momentum garnered did not yield result as the Enugu based side held on to the win to get the 3 points.
