The Nigeria Premier Football League has announced that the second half of the league will resume Friday 16 February, 2024, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The league was initially to resume Wednesday, 14 February, but was put forward to accommodate the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire.

The NPFL has now stated that the league will return days after the AFCON so there will be time foe outstanding matches to be played.

"The 2nd round of the season scheduled to hold on February 14 has now been moved to February 16 to 18 to ensure sporting fairness and conclusion of all outstanding 1st round matches." A post on NPFL social media pages stated.

Continental representatives, Rivers United have a couple of outstanding matches to play with the latest match on Monday against Shooting Stars Sports Club  in Ibadan.
