NPFL LaLiga U-15 Promise: Plateau United pip Sunshines to reach final
Plateau United have defeated Sunshine Stars in the semi finals of the Nigeria Premier Football League LaLiga U-15 Promise to reach the finals on Tuesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Mees Palace Football Academy boys from Jos defeated the young Akure Gunners by two goals to one to reach this year's final at the Remo Stars Stadium.
Umar Bala with his fifth goal of the tournament and a beautiful strike gave Plateau United the opener in the 11th minute.
However, Olaniyo Precious with a deflected shot pegged back United in the 20th minute of the game as the first half ended one all.
Sumfat Julius restored United's lead in the 55th minute of the game with a beautiful curler to hand Plateau United the victory and a place in the final.
At the end of the match, Umar Bala and Sumfat Julius shared the man of the match award.
Plateau United now await the winner between Remo Stars Beyond Limits Football Academy and El Kanemi Warriors in the second semifinal of the day.
