Kano Pillars has been the busiest in the transfer market expressing interest in at least four players of four different clubs.

The former champions in their bid to resurrect their title ambitions which slacked towards the end of the season after a surge midway are looking to strengthen their squad with players from Niger Tornadoes, MFM, Lobi Stars and Warri Wolves.

Pillars are targeting Tornadoes’ leading goal scorer, Ismaila Gata, Lobi Stars’ Kingsley Eduwo, King Osanga of Warri Wolves and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi of MFM.

The race for Gata's signature looks dead in the water with FC Ifeanyiubah in pole position to land him.

"I can confirm that I have seen the clearance letter issued FC Ifeanyiubah by Niger Tornadoes in respect of the player, Ismaila Gata but we are yet to treat the registration papers because FC Ifeanyiubah have not met the pre-condition for midseason registration," confided an LMC official involved with the process.

While there has been no response from the other three clubs, MFM has since fired a statement declaring their players not available for negotiations this term. So that means Kano Pillars cannot hold talks with Ifeanyi Ifeanyi.

MFM Team Manager, Sunny Ojei, in a statement declared that “our key players are not for sale for any price; however, clubs can enter into negotiation with us at the end of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League season.”

Pillars request to the clubs was contained in separate letters signed by the club's head of technical committee, Hassan Abdullahi Garo.
