Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, is expecting a stern challenge as his team commences their title defence against El-Kanemi Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Despite being favourites to secure maximum points, Ilechukwu is cautious of the threat posed by Aliyu Zubairu's side, acknowledging their strength after watching their continental matches.

“It’s going to be a very tough match for both teams. El-Kanemi have a very strong team. I watched their games on the continent and you’d agree with me that they have a very strong team. We have our game plan,” said the manager.

Rangers boast an impressive record against El-Kanemi Warriors, having won their last nine league encounters with a convincing 16 goals scored and none conceded.

However, Ilechukwu's comments suggest he is not taking anything for granted as his team seeks to begin their title defence on a positive note.
