The Nigeria Premier Football League match day 11 weekend saw the end of two longest reigning unbeaten home runs with Rivers United and Katsina United losing at home, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Rivers United lost for the second consecutive time after losing 3-0 last week to Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

This time, the Pride of Rivers fell 0-1 to the Prosperity Boys courtesy of a 7-minute goal from the Bayelsa Stateside.

The result brings an end to a 5-year unbeaten home run with 91 matches for Rivers United who last lost at home to Wikki Tourist in 2019.

Katsina United FC’s more than 2-year unbeaten run at home was ended by newcomers Ikorodu City FC.

The Changi Boys had not lost an NPFL home game in 942 days until their 1-2 loss to the Oga Boys.

Ikorodu City had to come from behind to beat the Northerners after Moses Effiong's 22-minute goal was cancelled by Solomon Alade in 44 minutes and Emmanuel Solomon in 89 minutes.

It is Ikorodu City's first-ever away win in the league and the result takes them to 12th on the log with 14 points while Katsina United is in 17th place with 12 points.
