The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has unveiled a revised schedule for the backlog of fixtures involving Rivers United, one-time NPFL champions, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

In a bid to accommodate Rivers United's outstanding matches, the NPFL has decided to temporarily halt the league after this weekend’s matchday 32 games. The pause will allow Rivers United to complete their fixtures without any rush.

Following the break, the league will resume with matchday 33 games scheduled for the weekend of May 25-26.

The rearranged fixtures, strategically planned by the NPFL, aim to streamline travel logistics by fixing game dates based on the regional proximity of venues.

Consequently, Rivers United's away fixtures of matchday 21, 23, and 27 against Remo Stars, Kwara United, and Sunshine Stars respectively, are rescheduled for May 5, May 8, and May 11.

The Pride of Rivers will then journey to Umuahia for their matchday 29 game against Abia Warriors, concluding with a home fixture against Niger Tornadoes, a matchday 22 encounter.
