NPFL: 5 clubs fall short in stadium requirements ahead of league kickoff
The Interim Management Committee, IMC has released the list of stadia that did not meet the needed requirements ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season which starts on the 8th of January, 2023, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.
As a result, five teams will call another place home when the league begins.
They are Rangers International of Enugu, Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Nasarawa Utd, Kwara Utd and Niger Tornadoes of Minna.
Rangers Int'l whose home ground used to be the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium (AKA the Cathedral) in Enugu, the Awka City Stadium will now be their new home.
Nasarawa Utd who used the Township Stadium in Lafia, will make do with the New Jos Township Stadium.
Kwara United will adopt the Lekan Salami Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan away from their home previously in Kwara. They join home team, Shooting Stars to use the Stadium.
The Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi will not see league action this term as Lobi Stars will share the New Jos Road Stadium, Jos with Plateau United and Nasarawa United.
Minna will no be home for Niger Tornadoes as they have to adopt a new home in the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The development comes a couple of days after the league body conducted the draw for the new season.
