In a surprising move, Nottingham Forest has omitted Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis from their squad for the 2024-25 season, casting doubt on his future with the club, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Despite Dennis having been a part of the team earlier in the year, his recent stint away from the City Ground—including loan spells at Basaksehir and Watford—has culminated in this latest decision by the club.

This move by Nottingham Forest, managed by Nuno Espírito Santo, comes despite Dennis having two years left on his current contract. Sources indicate that the club is open to offloading Dennis, along with three other players, at a reduced price, even though he was initially acquired for €16 million.

Despite appearing to have secured a place in Espírito Santo’s plans—starting in the team's first two pre-season matches—Dennis has been absent from the squad for the last six games. His exclusion from the official squad list has intensified speculation about his role and future at the club.

With the release of the official squad list, Dennis now faces the challenge of finding a new club, as Nottingham Forest is reportedly eager to free up space within their squad. According to Nottingham Post, Dennis is not part of Espírito Santo’s strategy for the current season, and the forward must now seek opportunities elsewhere.
