Former Sevilla star Nolito has expressed confidence that Kelechi Iheanacho will become a key player for the Rojiblancos, despite a slow start to his Sevilla career, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Iheanacho, 28, joined Sevilla on a free transfer in the summer but has struggled to make an impact, scoring no league goals in six appearances.

However, he showed glimpses of his potential with a brace in Sevilla's Copa del Rey win over La Rozas last week.

Nolito, who played for Sevilla from 2013 to 2016, believes Iheanacho needs time to find his rhythm.

"He's a good guy, and I hope he brings us some joy this year," Nolito told Orgullobiri. "He lacks a bit of rhythm, but I am confident that he will gradually improve. He's a good footballer."

Nolito's endorsement will boost Iheanacho's morale as he seeks to rediscover his best form.
