No game time for fit-again Kwadwo Asamoah as Juventus win Derby d'Italia over Inter Milan
Kwadwo Asamoah was an unused substitute as his side Juventus rested top players but still beat Inter Milan 2-1 in the Derby d’Italia on Saturday.
The Ghana international was making a return to the team after recovering from a six-month injury lay-off.
Head coach Max Allegri included him in his squad to the San Siro but kept him on the bench all-night.
The Derby d’Italia had an unusual feel to it, as Juve had already won the Scudetto and rested numerous players ahead of the Coppa Italia Final.
They were fresh from earning their first Champions League Final spot in 12 years against Barcelona, so confidence was sky high.
Inter scored first when a corner came out to Marcelo Brozovic for a screamer which Icardi redirected with his chest.
It will be credited to the Argentine, his sixth goal in five games against Juve.
Claudio Marchisio converted past spot-kick specialist Handanovic, low at the near corner to send him the wrong way for the equalizer.
Juventus took the lead with a shocking howler from Handanovic.
Morata scuffed his shot and had assumed it was an easy save, so turned away, but heard the crowd noise to see it had somehow bounced over the goalkeeper when he was down on the ground.
