No Contact Made as Reports Linking Osula to Nigeria Switch Dismissed
Reports claiming that William Osula is in talks to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria have been dismissed, with no contact established between the player and the Super Eagles’ technical crew, Nigeriasoccernet.com understands.
Recent speculation suggested that the Nigeria Football Federation had opened discussions with the Newcastle United forward in a bid to secure his commitment. However, sources have clarified that no such approach has been made, either to the player or to Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle.
Osula, 22, remains eligible to represent Nigeria despite previously featuring for Denmark at the youth level. Having not yet made a senior appearance for the European nation, he is still able to switch allegiance under FIFA eligibility rules.
While the forward continues to attract attention for his development in English football, officials within the NFF have described the circulating reports as unfounded.
For now, Osula’s international future remains open, with no immediate indication that a change of allegiance is on the horizon as he continues to focus on his progress at the club level.
