NNL: Sokoto United sack Head coach, appoint assistant
Nigeria National League Super Eight bound Sokoto United FC have relieved Coach Mansur Abdullahi of his duties as head coach and has appointed assistant Coach, Peter Ajani, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
In a statement by the club's media, the North West club announced on Saturday that the club management has parted ways with Abdullahi who led the team to the promotion playoff.
"After a comprehensive review and thoughtful deliberation, the management of Sokoto United FC has decided to part ways with Coach Mansur Abdullahi, effective immediately. This decision was made with the best interests of the club in mind, as the team's performance and progress were carefully assessed to determine the need for a change in leadership to achieve our goals and aspirations."
The statement went on to announce the appointment of Coach Peter Ajani who assisted Abdullahi in the 2023/2024 NNL season were they finished top of Conference D of the league.
"We are pleased to announce the appointment of Assistant Coach Peter Ajani as the new head coach, leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience with the team to ensure a smooth transition. The management has every confidence in Coach Ajani's ability to lead Sokoto United FC to success, building on the solid foundation established by his predecessor."
The statement ended with an appreciation of Coach Mansur Abdullahi's contributions during his time as the Coach of the club.
