Nigeria’s Flamingoes will jet out for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Jordan on Monday, officials have disclosed.

The women’s U17s build-up for Jordan 2016 has been limited to test matches against local sides in Abuja.

A planned international warm-up against fellow qualifiers Ghana or Cameroon did not see the light of day.

The Flamingoes, under coach Bala Nikyu, will open their campaign on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1, against Brazil.

They will also tackle England and North Korea in the first round.

The Nigeria girls have reached the quarterfinals at the last two World Cups.
