John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme were both in good form on Wednesday night as they helped Israeli club, Hapoel Beer Sheeva beat Honvéd 2-1 in the Uefa Champions League.

The Hungarian club will feel they have a fighting chance of progressing to third qualifying round as they require just a 1-0 win in the return fixture in the return fixture on July 19.

Ogu and Nwakaeme however played important roles in the first leg win at Yaakov Turner Toto Stadium.

They were directly involved in Hapoel’s second goal, a four-man passing sequence finished off in spectacular fashion by Dan Eibinder in the 52nd minute.

Ogu won the ball in midfield before passing to teammate, Maor Melikson who subsequently squared to Nwakaeme on the far side.

The big striker proceeded to turn his marker inside out before providing an inch perfect pass to Eibinder who produced an outrageous back heel to bamboozle the Honvéd goalkeeper, David Grof.
