Nigeria U23 team, the Dream Team VI, blew away a two-goal lead as they were forced to a 2-2 draw by the Junior Pharaohs of Egypt in their second group game of the ongoing Africa U23 Championships.

Oghenekaro Etebo hit a first half brace, scoring two goals from the penalty spot, but the Egypt U23 cancelled Nigeria’s advantage as they scored two quick goals by the start of the second half.

Both Nigeria and Egypt made attempts to kill the game with a third goal but neither was successful as the Group B tie ended in a stalemate.

The result on Wednesday night means that Group B is still very much open as any of the trio of Nigeria, Algeria and Egypt has the chance of pulling through to the semi-finals.

Both Nigeria and Algeria are presently on four points apiece after two games while Egypt has two points from same number of games.

Mali on their part are out of contention having failed to get any point in their first two games.

Nigeria will face Algeria while Egypt will be up against Mali in the final group games.
