Nigeria defender Onahi Abraham Ogbu joins Swedish Östersunds FK
Onahi Abraham Ogbu, a Nigerian defender has joined Swedish outfit Östersunds FK till 31st December 2025, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.
With just two days left before the Norrland derby, the club joyfully announced the capturing of the talented left-back who for weeks now have been on trial at the club.
Not a stranger to Swedish football, Onahi Abraham Ogbu was with Allsvenskan club IFK Göteborg, but unfortunately had to end his time there after an injury. He then returned to his youth club, TikiTaka FC International in Nigeria where he has been training before going on a trial with Östersunds FK.
Having impressed the club during the trials and with Swedish club and the Nigeerian Academy reaching a loan agreement, Onahi Abraham Ogbu will represent Östersunds FK for the next two years.
Ogbu has been in training with us for a few weeks and made a good impression both as a person and as a player. We are getting a full-back who is confident on the ball with a good passing game that will be interesting to follow going forward, says Stefan Lundin, sporting director at Östersunds FK.
It will be incredibly fun to now become part of ÖFK. I come to a club where the team spirit is among the best I have experienced. I look forward to taking the club back to the Allsvenskan, and am prepared to put all the power I have into it, and then some, says Ogbu, who is now loading up for this weekend's derby.
