Nick Woltemade bound for Juventus as Newcastle loan move advances

Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade is set to join Juventus on loan after the Italian club reached a verbal agreement with the Premier League side on the final day of the transfer window.

The 24-year-old Germany forward will move to the Serie A giants for the remainder of the campaign, according to an updated report from football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Juventus, widely known as La Vecchia Signora, have agreed to pay £3.5m for the loan. That figure is approximately €4m, but the arrangement does not include either an option or an obligation for the Italian club to make the transfer permanent.

The agreement means Woltemade will leave Newcastle United after one season at the club, having arrived from Stuttgart last summer in a deal worth €75m.

He made 53 appearances for Newcastle United and recorded 11 goals and six assists during his time with the English club.

Woltemade’s move to Juventus is therefore structured solely as a temporary transfer. Juventus will pay the agreed loan fee, while any future decision about the striker’s long-term club career will remain separate from the current agreement.

The transfer is expected to be completed on deadline day, with Woltemade set to join Juventus as the window closes. The German forward will now continue his career in Italy after his spell in England.

His departure follows a single season at Newcastle United, where he contributed both goals and assists across 53 matches. His record for the club stands at 11 goals and six assists, following his €75m transfer from Stuttgart last summer.

For Juventus, the deal provides a short-term addition to their forward options in Serie A. The club have negotiated a loan rather than a permanent transfer, with no clause requiring or allowing them to buy Woltemade at the end of the arrangement.

The reported agreement was described as verbal by Romano, with the move taking place during the final day of the transfer window. Woltemade’s next destination will be Juventus, while Newcastle United retain the option of assessing the player’s position beyond the loan period because no purchase provision has been included in the deal.
