"?Newcastle right-back Daryl Janmaat is said to be on his way to Watford for a medical following an agreement between the two clubs.

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie is reporting that the Magpies have accepted a £7.5m bid from the Hornets, and that the player will be having a medical imminently.

Daryl Janmaat is on his way to Watford for a medical after Newcastle and The Hornets agreed a fee in the region of £7.5m for the Dutchman.

Janmaat did not feature in Newcastle's last match, but Rafa Benitez seemed sure that he would still be with the club for the rest of the season.

The Spaniard insisted that only a 'fantastic' offer would be able to pull the defender away, and it seems like £7.5 is just that.

"It is difficult to say, because I told him the other day that, if he is here, he is a player that I like," Benitez said to "?Sky Sports on Monday.

"He is a good professional and I don't have any problem.

"If someone comes with a fantastic offer, for us or for him, we will analyse everything but, at the moment, he is a player that is in our team, in our squad, and I don't have a problem playing him if it is necessary.

"He's fine, I am fortunate to have a very good group of professionals. They train well. Even the ones who know they may leave, train well."

Meanwhile, DeAndre Yedlin is reportedly close to signing for Newcastle from Tottenham in a deal that should be completed within the coming days.
