Newcastle eye Super Eagles forward amidst difficulties with Osimhen's transfer
Following his failed move to Al-Nassr in January, Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface could very well be on his way to the English Premier League (EPL) in the summer with another Saudi-owned club in Newcastle among his potential suitors, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward has now replaced fellow countryman, Victor Osimhen who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli on the Magpie's attacking list concerning the difficulty surrounding his permanent exit with PSG, Manchester United, Al Ahli all interested.
With a potential move to St. James' Park reportedly appealing to him, his representatives are actively exploring options for his departure from the Bundesliga club. However, Newcastle United faces stiff competition from West Ham United, who are also keen to secure the young star's services.
For Newcastle, Boniface could be a key alternative should their pursuit of Lille's Jonathan David, who will soon be available on a free transfer prove unsuccessful.
Despite the swirling transfer rumors, Boniface remains focused on his current club. He has been a standout performer for Leverkusen, who currently hold second place in the Bundesliga, contributing seven goals and one assist in 12 appearances this season.
