New boss sees Foxes end slump
Leicester City gave their new manager Brendan Rodgers an early boost as they ended a run of four straight home defeats with a 2-1 win over Brighton.
Rodgers was confirmed as the Foxes new boss an hour before kick-off, with the Northern Irishman having called time on his spell as Celtic manager in swift fashion to take the position that was vacated by Claude Puel on Sunday after a poor start to 2019.
The new Leicester boss was in the stands to look on and will have been pleased to see his new squad picking up three points.
Demarai Gray and Jamie Vardy scored in either half for Leicester against struggling Brighton, with the Seagulls briefly threatening late on when Davy Propper drove home to cut their arrears.
Brighton have yet to win a Premier League game in 2019, while Leicester were in the same boat having failed to win any of Puel's final seven games at the helm.
I'll give my life to make the supporters proud of their club.

Rodgers "promised the players there are special things on the horizon" after watching their win over Brighton, according to caretaker boss Mike Stowell, who also confirmed the 46-year-old had met the players after the game.
"Brendan's pleased. He spoke to the lads in the dressing room. He was proud of them and liked the spirit," said Stowell.
"The atmosphere has lifted with a win and with the new manager because I'm sure he'll bring a lot of good things. It's exciting times.
"He's got a presentation to give to them on Thursday on what he expects from them on and off the pitch. I'm excited about watching that."
For his part, Rodgers told the Leicester City website that he would be dedicating his life to the club having taken over as manager.
"I'll give my life to make the supporters proud of their club," Rodgers said.
"Together, we'll be stronger and I'm looking forward to working with the players, staff and supporters to make the right steps forward."
The Rodgers era begins officially for the Foxes on Sunday with a trip to Watford, where they are 21/10 to win. The Hornets are 13/10 while the draw is 23/10.
