English Premier League outfit, Everton are nearing a deal to sign Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi on a free transfer, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Nigeria international is in the last days of his contract with Leicester City with his deal set to end in this month.

Although Leicester City after appointing Steve Cooper as the new manager are pushing to see Ndidi renew his contract but this has been a fruitless attempt.

However, Everton have moved ahead in the race to sign the midfielder, with advanced negotiations underway with his representative.

According to sources, Ndidi has already agreed to join the Toffees, who are eager to bolster their midfield with his quality and experience.

The signing would be a significant coup for Everton, who are not certain of having Belgium international, Amadou Onana for new season due to attractions from top English teams.
