National Sport Festival: Enugu to host 23rd edition
The Director General of the National Sports Commission has officially confirmed that Enugu State will host the 23rd edition of the National Sports Festival, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.
According to the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade the announcement came after extensive deliberations with the Chairman of the Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and technocrats of the commission.
Olopade further stated that the state’s impressive bid left a lasting impression on the commission hence its selection to hold the 2026 national mundial.
This marks the first time in over two decades that the hosting state is announced prior to the conclusion of the preceding festival, giving Enugu over two years to prepare for the event.
As part of the buildup, Enugu will give spectators a glimpse of what to expect in 2026 with a special presentation during the closing ceremony of Ogun 2024.
