Nasarawa United head coach, Kabir Dogo has said he has absolute respect for his former boss and Kano Pillars manager, Mohammed Baba Ganaru.

Both managers worked together at Nasarawa United before the head coach, Ganaru returned to former side, Pillars. The Lafia outfit lost 1-2 to Pillars in the first fixture clash in Kano.

The Solid Miners will host the Pyramid City side and former champions, Pillars in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 31 clash at adopted ground the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.

Dogo said his side will play the game of their lives aimed at grabbing the whole three points at stake in the match.

“Baba Ganaru remains my boss even though he has moved on to former champions, Kano Pillars.

“We will accord him due respect as boss and treat him with complete reverence in and off the pitch.

“We understand quite well that he has full knowledge of the team he is coming to confront on Wednesday.

“We know, too that there have been changes in the team between the period he took charge and right now.

“However, we are not going out of our way to prepare for the reverse clash, nothing special than the normal preparation for any other league match.

“We are ready for the matchup, I do not want to call the clash revenge but the three points is quite key and we will not compromise or negotiate the points.

“The clash is expected to be tough given the pedigree of Pillars and their manager but we will win to further secure our position on the league log as well as improve our chances for a ticket to the continent.

“The players know what is at stake and sure to come up with their best performance to win convincingly.

“We lost the first fixture clash to Pillars in Kano we cannot afford to lose or share the remaining points, we must take our own fair share of the points,” said the former Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC coach to supersport.com.

Nasarawa United are ninth on the Nigerian top-flight log on 40 points eight behind league leaders, Enugu Rangers.
