All eyes will be on the returning Fabio Quagliarella when Sampdoria take on Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo in Serie A on Saturday evening.

The 36-year-old Naples native returns to the stadium he briefly called home with hopes of breaking Gabriel Batistuta’s record for consecutive Serie A games in which he has scored, currently on 11, with the Argentine’s record standing since 1994.

It was in the reverse fixture at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in September that Quagliarella scored what is still possibly the season’s best goal, executing a stunning backheel volley from the edge of the box as Samp won 3-0.

Napoli, though, are unbeaten in the last 10 Serie A games against Sampdoria at the San Paolo (W8, D2) – their last defeat was a 2-0 loss back in April 1998.

The Partenopei are unbeaten in the last 16 Serie A home matches (W13, D3), it’s the longest current streak in the competition. No team are on a longer unbeaten run at home in the top five European Leagues.
