Italian giants, SC Napoli have rejected a €100 million transfer bid from Newcastle United for their striker, Victor Osimhen.

According to II Corriere dello Sport, the paper claims Napoli have already rejected a €100m bid from Newcastle United for Victor Osimhen and explains the club’s plan to keep the Nigeria international and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at the Stadio Maradona in the possible future

The transfer bid is coming weeks after Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis declared that both players “are not for sale”

The Partenopei stars are leading the team to their third Serie A title in history. Osimhen and Kvara have scored 39 goals combined this season and Napoli are unwilling to sell them in the summer.

The pair has been linked with some of the best and wealthiest clubs in Europe, from Real Madrid to Manchester United and PSG, but Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will offer both players a new contract soon, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.

Kvara arrived from Dinamo Batumi for just €10m last summer and his current deal expires in June 2027.

Osimhen, on the other hand, arrived from Lille in 2020 for €75m and his contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in June 2025.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports ADL wants to ‘open a winning cycle’ so keeping both players at the club is a priority. According to the report, Napoli rejected a €100m bid from Newcastle for Osimhen a year and a half ago.

De Laurentiis publicly discussed the future of his stars during an interview in February:

“I am very good at making contracts, so keeping them here won’t be difficult,” he said.

“However, never say never. Sometimes there are offers you can’t refuse, so you never know. To me, we’ll see them shine for a long time.”

Best Choice Sports can report that Napoli have placed a €150 million valuation on the Nigeria international hoping to scare potential suitors away.

Should Osimhen be sold at €150 million, it would make Victor Osimhen the most expensive African player in history, the second most expensive black footballer on the planet and the 3rd most expensive transfer in history.

The 24 years old is currently on national duty with his country, Nigeria. As the prepare to his Guinea Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifiers This Friday and next week’s Monday

Osimhen joined the team’s camp in Abuja on Tuesday.
