Napoli face indictment over financial irregularities for Osimhen and Manolas
The Rome public prosecutor's office has requested the indictment of Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis on charges of false accounting, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
De Laurentiis is accused of recording fictitious capital gains in the club's purchase of players, including Victor Osimhen and Kostas Manolas.
According to reports in Italy, prosecutors allege that the deals generated tens of millions of euros in fictitious capital gains by inflating the value of certain players beyond their actual worth on the transfer market.
The prosecutor's office has also requested that Napoli, as a club, and De Laurentiis's associate Andrea Chiavelli be put on trial.
The investigation centres on two specific transfers: Osimhen's move from Lille to Napoli in 2020 on a five-year deal worth over €70M and Manolas's transfer from AS Roma to Napoli in 2019.
