Mykhailo Mudryk starts new chapter at Tottenham with £75m option

Mykhailo Mudryk has officially moved from Chelsea to Tottenham, with the winger joining Spurs on loan until the end of the current season.

The agreement for the 25-year-old was confirmed by Tottenham, bringing an end to his time at Chelsea for the remainder of the campaign. According to respected transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the loan deal includes an option for Tottenham to sign Mudryk permanently for £75m, a fee equivalent to €87.5m.

Mudryk’s move comes after a prolonged absence from competitive football. His last appearance for Chelsea came at the end of 2024, before he was suspended following a positive doping test. The winger’s period of disqualification ended only in late July this year.

The transfer gives Mudryk an opportunity to resume his career with Tottenham after his time at Chelsea was interrupted. His loan will run through to the conclusion of the current season, while the inclusion of the purchase option leaves open the possibility of a permanent move to Spurs.

Mudryk joined Chelsea’s ranks after establishing himself as a winger capable of playing in attacking wide areas, but his involvement with the club came to a halt after his final match in late 2024. The subsequent suspension meant he was unavailable until the ban expired in July.

During his Chelsea career, Mudryk scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 73 appearances across all competitions. Those figures represent his complete record for the Blues before his move to Tottenham.

The financial terms reported by Romano mean Tottenham could commit £75m to retain the player beyond the temporary arrangement. However, the agreement announced at this stage is a loan, and the permanent transfer remains an option rather than a confirmed future deal.

For now, Mudryk will continue his career in Tottenham colours until the end of the season. His arrival provides the 25-year-old with a fresh start after the interruption caused by his suspension, while Tottenham have secured the ability to assess the player before deciding whether to activate the reported £75m clause.
