Super Eagles full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel has explained what birthed his instinctive move which gave the Super Eagles the penalty kick against Guinea Bissau, Nigeriasoccernet.com  reports.

Nigeria needed an immediate response after suffering their first home defeat at the AFCON qualifiers in fours years and response came away at the last team to defeat the Eagles, the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bisssu.

The Fenerbahce defender won the penalty that was converted by Moses Simon for the Super Eagles’ only goal of the game.

“When I got the ball, I saw there was space and moved into the box. In our trainings the coach always want me to attack and defend as well,” Osayi-Samuel told NFF TV.

“When I got the ball, I saw it as an opportunity for me to attack. My initial plan was to dribble past the defender, but he brought me down.

“Like I said I tried to give my best to the team and I’m happy that we won.”
