Mudryk speaks out on De Zerbi as Tottenham begin loan spell

Mykhailo Mudryk has spoken about Roberto De Zerbi after completing a loan move from Chelsea to Tottenham, renewing a managerial relationship that began during the Ukraine international’s time at Shakhtar Donetsk.

Mudryk previously worked under De Zerbi at the Ukrainian club, where the Italian was his manager. The attacking midfielder has now moved to Tottenham on loan until the end of the season and will be coached by De Zerbi once again.

The agreement also includes an option for Tottenham to make the transfer permanent. The club can sign Mudryk for a fee of 87m euros at the conclusion of the loan period.

Mudryk’s comments focused on his view of De Zerbi, who is now in charge of Tottenham. The move therefore brings the player back under the guidance of a coach he has already worked with, while also giving Tottenham the opportunity to assess him before deciding whether to complete a permanent transfer.

The Ukrainian joined Tottenham after leaving Chelsea on a temporary basis. His arrival provides the London club with an attacking midfielder who already has experience of De Zerbi’s methods from their time together at Shakhtar Donetsk.

For Mudryk, the switch represents a change of club while keeping an existing link with his manager. Rather than beginning an entirely new working relationship, he returns to a coach he previously played under in Ukraine.

Tottenham’s decision to include an 87m-euro purchase option means the loan could lead to a long-term move. That decision will be taken at the end of the season, with Mudryk’s immediate status confirmed only for the duration of the current campaign.
