Moses Appreciates Support For BBC Award
Chelsea of England star, Victor Moses has revealed the appreciation to everyone who has given him words of support and encouragement in the possibility of him emerging winner of 2017 BBC African Footballer of The Year.
Moses said he is encouraged by the congratulatory messages and words of support he has gained from his colleagues, fans and well-wishers, following his nomination for the illustrious prize last weekend.
Though the winner is not to be known until December 11, the former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic star says he is already optimistic of carrying the day, based on the array of goodwill messages he has received from all across the world.
With his spirit rising high in great expectation, the lad who played on loan at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United in quick succession, before finally cementing his place at Chelsea last season, is sending thanks to everyone who has supported him this far.
He is one of the five shortlisted players for this year’s award as revealed during a special live launch broadcast in London last Saturday.
Also in the running for the award are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon/Dortmund), Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool), Sadio Mane (Senegal/Liverpool) and Naby Keita (Guinea/ RB Leipzig). The winner of this year’s award will be announced on Monday 11 December, live on BBC World TV and BBC World Service Radio, ahead of which manhy pundits aere already tipping Moses to claim the prize. Among those who have shown support to Victor are some of his Super Eagles teammates, the Nigeria Football Federation and his Chelsea teammate Cesc Fabregas. To show his appreciation, Moses has sent a ‘thank you’ message to everyone who has shown support as he guns for the 2017 award.
