Monaco’s Ligue 1 winning run halted by Strasbourg draw

Monaco’s winning run in Ligue 1 came to an end on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Strasbourg.

The hosts and visitors both looked to attack during an open first half, but neither side was able to break the deadlock before the interval.

Strasbourg took the lead shortly after the restart when Monaco defender Sadibou Sane put the ball into his own net.

Monaco were forced to respond, while Strasbourg focused on maintaining a disciplined defensive shape and protecting their advantage. However, the home side eventually conceded in the closing stages.

Paris Brunner rescued Monaco from defeat by scoring the equaliser late in the match.

The result leaves Monaco with 10 points at this stage of the Ligue 1 season. Strasbourg have collected seven points from their four matches.
