Mohamed Ali Zoma earns first Italy call-up under Roberto Mancini

Mohamed Ali Zoma has been named in Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad for the national team’s upcoming Nations League fixtures.

The 22-year-old winger, who was born in Merate and plays for FC Nuremberg, has received his first call-up to the Squadra Azzurra.

Zoma was eligible to represent Italy, Burkina Faso or Ivory Coast, with his father of Burkinabe origin and his mother Ivorian. His selection by Italy confirms his decision to represent the country where he was born and began his football education.

“As I was born in Italy and also started playing football there, a childhood dream is coming true for me today,” Zoma said.

“It is a great honour to be able to represent Italy as an international player and I am very grateful for this opportunity.”
