OGC Nice Striker, Terem Moffi has been recognised for his outstanding display this season in the French League which earned in a spot among nominees for the Ligue 1 African best player for the 2022/23 season award, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The award tagged after former Cameroon midfileder, Marc-Vivien Foe, was won by Victor Osimhen in 2019/2020 season while playing for Lille and Vicent Enyeama in same club in 2014 becoming first Nigerian and the only goalkeeper to have won the award.

Moffi will be competing with 10 other African players who have been impressive all season.

Among the players nominated for the award are Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco defender, Achraf Hakimi; Democratic Republic of Congo and Marseille centre-back, Chancel Mbemba; and Troyes star, Mama Balde.

The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals and recorded two assists in 29 league appearances this season.

Come May 30, the winner of this award will be revealed.
