Tyrone Mings is looking forward to helping to helping Aston Villa adjust to life back in the Premier League, having completed a permanent move from Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa Park and helped the Midlanders gain promotion via the play-offs.

Whatever the goals are for the season. I want to be a big part of that.

Mings made 18 appearances for the Villans during his loan spell with the Villans and he is delighted to have secured a permanent deal to continue with Dean Smith's side.

He told the club's official website: "My goals and aims are the same as when I came in January - to play as many games as possible and to be part of success for the club.

"Whatever the goals are for the season. I want to be a big part of that - we achieved what we set out to achieve when I came in back in January.

"We'll set new goals now and do everything we can to achieve them. I just want to enjoy my football and hopefully that brings success to the team.

"I have a bit of experience in the Premier League. I wouldn't call myself an experienced player, but any bits of experience that you can use will be invaluable."

Villa start life back in the top-flight with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 10th August and are 9/2 to gain a draw in the capital, with a 2-0 win for the hosts priced at 11/2.
