Middlesbrough 1-1 Blackburn Rovers: Boro spurn chances as winless run goes on
Hayden Coulson scored his first-ever goal for Middlesbrough four minutes after coming on as a substitute
Middlesbrough's winless run in the Championship was extended to six games as they drew 1-1 with Blackburn.
Rovers took a second-half lead against the run of play in when the unmarked Lewis Travis exchanged passes with Adam Armstrong on the edge of the box before side-footing into the corner.
But the hosts levelled 18 minutes later when substitute Hayden Coulson tapped in at the far post After Lewis Wing's shot was parried by Christian Walton.
Boro should have won it late on in the final 10 minutes - Britt Assombalonga missed the target with two good chances before Walton produced a fantastic save to keep out a Rudy Gestede header from a free kick.

The result sees Boro drop a place to 18th in the Championship, seven points above the relegation places, while Blackburn are 10th, six points off the play-offs after a fourth game without defeat.
An exciting opening to the game saw both sides have good chances inside the first 10 minutes - Sam Gallagher had an effort scrambled clear by the Boro defence before the hosts broke and saw Marvin Johnson and George Saville draw saves from Walton.
But a scrappy half thereafter was only brightened when Paddy McNair clipped the bar with a long-range effort for Middlesbrough in the 40th minute.
Boro had good chances in the 10 minutes after the restart as Marcus Tavernier forced a good save from Walton while Jonny Howson and Lukas Nmecha both shot wide.
But despite the late drama Boro could not get a winner as they failed to score more than once for the fifth time in six games.
