AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien will determine whether the Rossoneri make any more moves in the final hours of the January window.

Essien’s contract with Milan expires in June, and his agent had indicated that he turned down offers from Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion, while the 33-year-old has also refused an offer from Qatari club Al-Sadd.

According to Tuttosport, Milan would only proceed with a move for Atalanta’s Daniele Baselli or Hadjuk Split’s Tino-Sven Susic in the event of a last-minute deal for Essien.

The Rossoneri already have 31 players on their roster after acquiring Mattia Destro, Salvatore Bocchetti, Gabriel Paletta, Luca Antonelli, Suso and Alessio Cerci this month.

Milan could also save around €1 million in wages if they decide to offload Essien.
