Michael Essien worried about AC Milan 'deteriorating' second half performance
Ghana ace Michael Essien says AC Milan must work on their second half performance after last Monday’s 2-1 defeat at Fiorentina.
The Rossoneri took the lead Dattia Maestro opened on five minutes but conceded two goals in six minutes to win at home.
Essien was handed a starting role and was replaced on the 90th minute mark by Giampaolo Pazzini.
The former Chelsea star was disappointed with the manner they had a winning position slip by.
"It was a really strange match in Florence. In my opinion, we could have wrapped it up in the first half, because we had a lot of chances,” Essien told Milan Channel.
“Then after the goal in the second half I really don’t know what happened. We dropped back and we started to be put under pressure by them.
“We always play well in the first half, while we drop-off in the second half. Honestly I don’t know the reason why. It’s an aspect we have to work on."
