Manchester United manager Michael Carrick is continuing to rely on Lisandro Martinez and is expected to name the defender in the starting line-up for the Premier League match against Leeds, according to TEAMtalk.

The situation surrounding an interview given by Martinez has now been fully resolved, the report says. Carrick therefore plans to select the Argentina international from the beginning when Manchester United face Leeds.

Manchester United did not require Martinez to issue a public apology for his criticism of the club’s leadership. However, the defender chose to apologise publicly despite not being forced to do so.

The 18 October fixture will be the seventh-round Premier League meeting between Leeds and Manchester United.

Martinez has made seven appearances for Manchester United in all competitions this season and has scored one goal.
