Medeama coach Tom Strand denies holding secret talks with Hearts, insists he's happy in Tarkwa
Medeama coach Tom Strand insists he has had not talks over taking up an appointment at Hearts of Oak.
The young trainer has been reported to have held informal talks with representatives of the Phobians towards becoming their next substantive coach.
Strand has enjoyed relative success in just his first year at Medeama where he led the side to win the FA Cup title – beating holders Asante Kotoko in the finals.
Hearts are on the lookout for a new substantive coach following their difficult campaign last term where they flirted with relegation.
The Swede has been identified as an appropriate and competent replacement by some members of the board.
According to club insiders, these individuals have taken the initiative of holding unofficial talks with Tom Strand in anticipation of a formal request.
But the former Bechem United coach who is still under contract at Medeama says reports of unofficial talks with Hearts or any other club are untrue.
“I have not been in contact with any other club,” he said.
“I have a contract with Medeama and I am happy working at Medeama.
“It will be up to my boss at Medeama whether I will go to Hearts of Oak.”
