Mbappe reaches 100 Real Madrid goals after El Clasico victory

Kylian Mbappe scored in each half as Real Madrid defeated defending LaLiga champions Barcelona 2-1 in El Clasico, bringing their rivals’ perfect league record to an end.

The victory moved Real Madrid to within three points of Barcelona at the top of the standings and gave Mbappe the chance to mark a significant personal milestone.

His winning goal was the Frenchman’s 14th across all competitions during an impressive start to the 2026/27 season. It also took his total for Real Madrid to 100 goals.

Mbappe reached the landmark in 116 games, having spent just over two full seasons with the club. Only Cristiano Ronaldo, Ferenc Puskas and Alfredo Di Stefano achieved 100 goals for Real Madrid in fewer matches.

The result strengthened Real Madrid’s position in the title race after Barcelona had opened the league campaign with a 100% record.

It was also Jose Mourinho’s first league meeting with La Blaugrana in more than a decade, with Mbappe’s two goals securing victory for his side in the latest edition of Spanish football’s biggest fixture.
