Although there has been a lot of news from the Spanish capital suggesting Real Madrid is not as interested in Kylian Mbappe as they were in 2022, Real Madrid is still very much interested in the player this summer. Real Madrid has always maintained that they won't give in to pressure from Mbappe or allow him to play around with them.

Accordingly, should negotiations with Mbappe fail, Manchester City attacker Erling Haaland has been linked to a transfer to Los Blancos. According to  FootballTransfers, prominent Real Madrid board members are now pushing for a move for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Osimhen would fit Real Madrid and their style of play far better, according to "more experienced and wiser heads," as the large Nigerian is more like to Karim Benzema, who left in the summer. The funds allocated for Mbappe's salary and signing bonuses would most likely also cover Osimhen's contract.

When it comes to decisions this big, Florentino Perez is ultimately in charge, and he has always been personally fixated on Mbappe. Real Madrid won't change course until Perez is certain that Mbappe is not the addition they require or the Frenchman makes a commitment to Paris Saint-Germain.
